Huntsville INK

Huntsville Ink is a t-shirt design competition for all artists, Huntsville lovers, local creatives, and anything in between. This design competition is free to enter! Simply choose an ink color(s) and shirt color and create a design inspired by something local that you love. The shirts will be posted on our online store where we will run a month long presale. Artists will promote their shirt during the presale. Designs will be printed if a minimum of 8 shirts are sold. Artists will earn money for every shirt they sell. Customers will be refunded for designs that do not sell the minimum of 8 shirts by the end of the presale. The top 3 sellers will win additional merchandise with their design on it!

Your design can be printed on the front OR back of the shirt.

INK colors

Choose up to 2 ink colors for your design OR create a full color design.

Full color designs can only be printed on white or natural shirts. If the design you submit includes colors outside of the provided ink swatches or includes more than 2 ink colors, you must pick a white or natural shirt. Full color designs CAN have colors that are not from the provided list.

Please keep in mind that the 1-2 ink colors you choose do not include tints, tones, or shades. The colors used in your design must be a solid spot color from the provided options unless you are creating a full color design.

Designer Tips

File Types

The ideal file type for printing would be a vector file (AI or EPS). However, we want this competition to be for everyone, not just designers! PNG, JPEG, & PDF are also acceptable file types.

INK Colors

Keep in mind that the 1-2 ink colors you choose cannot include tints, tones, or shades of the color. It must only be the PMS color. Unless you choose to design on a white/ivory shirt and use unlimited colors.

Traditional Art

Artists who would like to have their traditional art printed on a shirt, please keep in mind that your art will need to be submitted as a high quality photo or scanned in.

Design Compatibility

Some designs are not compatible with our printing process. If your submission requires changes we will offer some suggestions and give you the option to resubmit your design.

Seller Tips

Find Your Audience

Create a design that will appeal to a specific group of people.

For example, if you're a part of a club, small group, band, or run a small business, use this as a chance to run a risk free presale.

Consistent Posts

The shirts will be up for presale until December 6th, so it is very important that you promote your shirt on social media/send the link to your intended audience before the presale ends.

Potential Profit

Make sure your audience knows that they're supporting local creatives with every purchase! You must sell at least 8 shirts for your design to get printed. Anything less than 8 will result in refunded customers. Designers will make $5 per sold shirt. Payouts will be processed through PayPal by January 10th 2024.
